Is There Anything The Breath Can't Do?

Recently i received a brief email from long-time Tao Tribe M.I.G.S. (Member in Good Standing) Colleen, who had just watched a YouTube video about Tummo Breathing Master, Wim Hof. Better known as 'The Iceman', Wim is a delightfully enthusiastic Teacher, who travels the world introducing people to the healing power and joy of deep conscious breathing and cold water immersion. At the end of her email, Colleen simply asked, "What can't the breath do?"

Research has shown, over and over, that those who breath deeply and consciously down into the diaphragm, experience a multitude of health benefits that include: strengthening the immune system, calming the nervous system, energizing the body, improving the respiratory system, alkalizing the blood stream (which can prevent all kinds of metabolic diseases), and elevating our mood. We can also note that 70% of the toxins in our body are expelled through the breath, and that long-term deep breathing practitioners tend to look more youthful. So, is there anything the breath can't do? In a word; NO! - it is literally the key, not only to radiant health, but to the vibrant energy and joy that we all long for. What's even better is that it doesn't cost anything, and is always available for our use. Why not verify this for yourself right now?

Close your eyes and direct your attention to your deep in-breath as it moves through your nose, all the way down into your deep belly, and then turns and flows out through your mouth. Take 12 or 18 of these deep breaths without pausing (gradually increasing to 30 over time), and then rest in the space that opens up in you after your last exhale. What you might discover - if you do this regularly - is that; not only does it feel blissful, but it drops you into the reservoir of vibrant energy and peace that you've been looking for your whole life. Even with just one conscious deep breath, you immediately feel more relaxed and at ease, more focused and refreshed. Why not make it your practice to return, again and again, to the gift of the breath you're taking right now, and discover for yourself, the treasure-trove of benefits that are worth more than all the money in the world??
