What Control?
Have you ever noticed that your life always unfolds the way it does; without any concern for what you want or don't want? That no matter how badly you might want something or someone, you always end up with exactly what you have, and more importantly, what you need?
One of the hardest things for us to accept as we learn to live in the flow of the present moment, is that we simply don't have the control over our lives that we might wish we did. The sun rises every morning whether we want it to or not; people come and go no matter how hard we may try and hold onto them, and things change in our lives whether we want them to or not.
Usually, through great suffering, we learn to trust what is unfolding, and simply let go of all of the tension and worry that surround all of the events in our lives. As we do this we discover that, as we let go of the old worn out ways that no longer serve us, and embrace the present moment, as it is, we open up a space in our lives for the fresh and new to enter and transform our way of being. We begin to see with new eyes, and the clarity we have always longed for suddenly makes itself known to us with no effort on our part.
All that is required is to let go of the illusion of control and actually cooperate with what is happening right now, knowing it is appearing in our lives for our highest good. As we relax and live from a space of non-resistance to the flow of our lives, we re-discover the effortless state of peace and freedom that our hearts have always longed for. In this clarity we see that everything is always the way it is suppose to be, and we are always exactly where we need to be. After all, where else could you be, right now??
